Excel automation software uses custom tools and logic built inside or alongside Excel to handle repetitive tasks automatically — like organizing submitted data, generating reports, or updating records — without requiring manual input each time.
Standard Excel requires someone to enter, organize, and format data manually. Automation handles those steps automatically. The result is the same structured spreadsheet your team already knows how to use, but populated and updated without manual effort.
No. We build systems that are straightforward for any team member to use. The automation runs in the background — your team simply works with a clean, organized spreadsheet that stays up to date.
Forms and Output Files
Yes. We build custom form to Excel software that routes submitted form data directly into structured spreadsheets. This works for client intake forms, order forms, rental applications, inspection records, and more.

We work with a wide variety of form types — online forms, paper-based forms that are digitized, email-based submissions, and application forms. If it collects data, we can build a system to organize it in Excel.
The standard outputs are Excel workbooks (.xlsx) and CSV files. Builds can also target Google Sheets when a team prefers to work there. If your workflow needs a different local file format, that is discussed during the workflow review so we only commit to formats that genuinely fit your setup.
Yes. Every build defines which sheet receives which form, which fields map to which columns, and what formatting or validation applies. The workbook is designed around the column layout your office already reads, and the structure can be adjusted later as your forms evolve.
Offline and Local Workflows
No. Most builds deliver a workbook that lives as a local file on your computer or shared office drive and works without a continuous internet connection. Online form intake needs a connection at the moment of submission, but day-to-day work in the workbook itself runs locally.
Yes. The workbook is yours and lives wherever your team already works — typically your own OneDrive, SharePoint, shared office drive, or a local Excel file. Local Data Works does not host your business records on a separate platform you would need to log into.
You are — and that is by design, because the file is yours. Backups follow whatever process you already trust: scheduled copies to an external drive, a versioned folder, or a sync service you choose. Every build ships with a short written guide covering how to back the workbook up. Standard device precautions — access controls, disk encryption, keeping copies of important files — remain your team's responsibility, just as with any business document.
Always. You own the workbook outright. If you ever decide to stop working with us, the spreadsheet keeps working on its own — there is no proprietary platform to be locked out of and nothing to migrate away from.
Custom Builds, Pricing, and Setup
Each engagement is a one-time custom build with a fixed scope and a single project price. There is no per-seat or per-submission fee. Optional monthly maintenance is available afterwards if you want us to handle form changes and updates so your team does not have to.

The main factors are the number of form fields, the complexity of the spreadsheet structure, how many output files or sheets are involved, validation rules, any custom workflow logic, testing requirements, and revision rounds. A single form feeding one clean workbook sits at the simpler end; multiple forms, dashboards, and historical backlog cleanup add scope. We confirm the specifics during a workflow review before quoting.

After a short discovery call we map your form, design the workbook, build the connection between the two, and run end-to-end test submissions before handoff. A typical build takes three to four weeks from kickoff to a working system. Simpler builds can ship in two weeks; more complex builds with multiple forms or custom dashboards take longer.

Both. We can design a new Excel system from the ground up, or improve and automate an existing spreadsheet your team already uses — without losing your current data or structure.
Small businesses, landlords, and property management offices that already rely on Excel and want to spend less time re-typing forms, exports, and recurring office data. If your team's main tool is a spreadsheet and your bottleneck is manual entry, this is built for you.
Landlords and Property Managers
Landlords can use custom Excel automation to track tenant records, manage lease dates and renewals, log rent payments, and maintain maintenance records — all in one organized system that updates consistently.
For property management offices, we build tools for rent roll automation, maintenance and work order tracking, tenant communication logs, inspection record keeping, and monthly reporting — designed to reduce the time your team spends on routine office tasks.
